There are many scenarios where you need to importload excel data into SQL Server. In this session I’ll introduce some techniques to effectively load excel data into SQL Server using different tools i.e., SSIS, Linked Server & OpenRowSet. I’ll also talk about which tool to use under what circumstances.

Abstract:-
Performance tuning is an on-going process. The first step of tuning is to know what’s going on inside SQL Server. Monitoring plays a vital role, effective monitoring helps a DBA to identify and resolve the issue before anyone notice it. I’ll introduce two basic monitoring tools i.e., SQL Server Profiler and Performance Monitor (PerfMon). I’ll also talk about How to use these tools? When to use these tools? How to synchronize a System Monitor log with a SQL Server Profiler trace to get a clear picture and narrow down the performance issue to a specific area?
