The new @Apple M1 iMac – the “Slimmest Beast”

Apple knows how to showcase a product. They are the kings in that area. Apple in their last Special Event launched a number of products including Airtag, iPad Pro, iPhone 12 Purple, Apple TV 4k, and the most fascinating product was the new iMacs. The colorful newly designed iMacs powered with Apple’s own silicon M1 SoCs.

The color iMacs isn’t something new. In the early 2000s, we witnessed colorful iMacs for the first time as G3. It’s like that feeling again. Having great iMacs on your desk with a colorful vibe to it. But the change is not just limited to colors. This time iMacs are slimmer than ever, these have the best processors M1 (as mentioned earlier), offer the same colored magic keyboard with Touch ID, magic mouse, trackpad, and cables. And the power brick also has an ethernet LAN port. Continue reading “The new @Apple M1 iMac – the “Slimmest Beast””

I already tried out the beta version of Catalina and there were so many new good features that I liked in my review. Especially Sidecar was the most effective feature I liked. There are so many features like ScreenTime, new look of Reminders, Catalyst etc. that makes the Catalina the best macOS so far. So there are few more new additions from beta to the official release. Will explore all the features now including which were there in beta version too. Continue reading “#macOS Catalina available now to all @Apple #Mac users”

How #Sidecar works on #macOS #Catalina @Apple

Sidecar the great option for extended screening on macOS Catalina and iPad

While reviewing Apple’s macOS Catalina one feature that’s appreciated the most is without any doubt, Sidecar. Even though I have posted an update about it on my Instagram, after successfully setting up the Sidecar screen sharing between MacBook Pro and iPad.

Sidecar is actually a life saver for many designers, presentation creators and app developers who always require a secondary screen with additional functionality.

Many users are benefitting from it, who are usually working on-the-go and need secondary screen for their work requirements. Sidecar cures that pain point and make their work easier. Continue reading “How #Sidecar works on #macOS #Catalina @Apple”

#Review: #macOS #Catalina #Beta from @Apple the new good looking and fast OS, but is it the best?

Review for macOS Catalina (Beta) by Apple

Apple announced the beta release of their new macOS Catalina, iPadOS 13, tvOS 13 and iOS 13 at WWDC. They are quite a buzz in the tech market now, as everything should be from Apple Inc. What’s interesting about these beta releases are they are integrating features to each other so well, that every Apple user will like and newbies would love to get on-board with these.

macOS Catalina is quite a biggie in the game as we’re seeing an era ending, which is iTunes (I’ll miss you a lot my musical partner in crime), and get to see new key additions like iPad apps can live on Mac very soon, enhanced security with if your Mac has T2 chip and many more. Still there are many flaws that Apple need to fix ASAP. Continue reading “#Review: #macOS #Catalina #Beta from @Apple the new good looking and fast OS, but is it the best?”

Why Microsoft Edge?

Microsoft already announced that Windows 10 is the last Windows version with this Microsoft Internet Explorer will also dilute very soon. Internet Explorer 11 is the last version, now Microsoft Edge will take over. Edge is offering a lot of features, which were not present in IE before and other browsers too (like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera etc.).
Microsoft Edge is promised to be a light weighted web browser integrated with EdgeHTML Engine built with web standards for the modern web. Edge will remove support for ActiveX and introducing other services like web-note and Cortana Assistance. Edge will also offer annotation tools and reading mode both.
With SunSpider benchmark Edge already performed faster than other browsers so it has improved JavaScript performance than any version of Internet Explorer. So, developers can have more performance parameters to compare with other browsers.
The current scenario of web browser market actually is with Google Chrome with 49.84%, Internet Explorer with 18.28%, Mozilla Firefox with 16.77%, Apple Safari with 9.88%, Opera with 1.65% and other browsers with 3.58% of total market.

When Internet Explorer is already doing well with second position in the market, why Microsoft is vanishing it?
The new model:
Microsoft will be offering all the new features and tools just like Apple use to do for OS-X, itunes and safari with providing updates for free. That gives users freedom to update regularly and turn down the piracy. This gives Microsoft a new name with the new model.
New features and competition:
With new features Microsoft may give users carve to switch from their current browser to Edge. There can be some features and tools revolutionary but need to wait for future.
Performance:
With the earlier version of Internet Explorer were a lot of performance issues and web developer’s use to face a lot incompatibility. Even though Internet Explorer was heavy browser. Now Microsoft Edge is already a lightweight and designed with new engine so performance and development issues can get rid-off.
Mobility:
Some of the earlier versions of Internet Explorer didn’t offer mobility. With the evolution of Windows Phone, IE got an eye as mobile web browser but still IE doesn’t consider as a mobile web browser. Edge is serving for all the platforms from PC to Mobile and Tablet also offers syncing among all the devices this can make user’s work easy and on-the-go too.
In the first beta/preview launch Microsoft Edge already caught eye for many web developers. There are still so many parameters which Edge has deliver and expected to get them covered up in the future updates. However, Internet Explorer 11 will available for the time being to overcome compatibility issues. Microsoft Edge will be featured as default browser in all the windows devices.

Creating Projects & Recording Tests on TestStudio for iOS

In my previous post Configuring or Deploying ‘Telrik TestStudio for iOS’ on iOS Simulator on XCode Mac showed you how to deploy TestStudio Extension on iOS Simulator. But now it’s time to perform, creating projects and recording test cases for the automation.

When you open the TestStudio on iOS Simulator first there are 2 options on the home screen:

  • Testing
  • Settings
Select testing and navigate to next page from where you actually need to create the new Project.
Here you can select the big Circular icon in the middle or +Add button in the Right Bottom of the simulator. After Navigating, give a new name to the project and click on Save on the Top-Right in simulator.
Now, from here you need to add test name & test type (Web App test or Native App test), which need to be test.
So, to add new app type & test click on the big Circular icon in middle or click +Add button in Right Bottom. Then you’ll be navigated to page where it will ask you to add a Web App or a Native App.
So, here I am adding a Demo_test as a test name and selecting Web Test as I need to test an WebApp and then click on save.
After saving now you are ready to do recording for the app test. From the given below screen shot of simulator:
So, now you can record your test cases by clicking on the big Circular icon of Steps in Middle or by clicking Record button in Bottom Left.
So now start recording test and if you want to give a target to add a task click on the + button in bottom middle to add:
So, when you add task, you have to select whether you are testing for verification or for action.
Select according to the requirements you have, like in this give below case I am selecting Verifications to Verify Attribute Value.
Now here give a case on which attribute you want to verify, like here I am checking on the basis of image source.
Now pause the recording and navigate to recorded steps by clicking on small steps icon in right bottom of the iOS Simulator. Now here are all the your steps which you have recorded to perform your test or tasks.
So here now you can play your record, add some other tasks & can get result reports as well.
This how you can keep on testing your iOS apps in simulator with a few clicks which will give you better and accurate results to increase the performance of your app.

The advancements that were made for the Citrix Receiver for iPhone will carry over to the iPad, however the iPhone restrictions of screen size and small keyboards are overcome with the iPad. It’s a beautiful thing ! The iPad looks to be an ideal end point device that can empower users to be productive were ever they are and IT will be able to safely deliver company hosted virtual desktops and apps without worry.
