How to: Increase or Decrease Undos limit in PowerPoint for Mac 2016

We do mistakes a lot while working and mistakes always makes us learn a lot. But computing gives we pleasure to edit the mistakes. While designing the Presentations we always have the issue with limited numbers of undo. This is one the major issue we use to face in our daily life for creating presentations and sometimes ‘Command + Z‘  becomes routine and it sucks when it touches the limit so early.

It’s very hard to keep a count of Undo(s) while editing/creating the content. Actually, this limit is editable and by-default  ’20’ Undo(s) limit is mentioned in Microsoft PowePoint for Mac.

You can increase or decrease the limit according to your requirement.

Here I’ll show how we do it:

  • Open Microsoft PowerPoint in Mac, navigate to ‘Preferences’ under PowerPoint for Mac (next to Apple button on top-left):

    Select PowerPoint Preferences
Navigate to PowerPoint button on top and select ‘Preferences…’
  • In PowerPoint Preferences window select ‘Edit’ button:

Select Edit button in Preferences window
Select Edit button in Preferences window
  • This window will show all the Edit preferences and here number of Undo actions can be edited:

Undo section in Edit preferences of PowerPoint for Mac

Now change the number of Undo action as the way you want:

Maximum level of Undos
Maximum level of Undos

NoteDefault level value is 20 for Undos but Minimum you can give 3 and Maximum you can give 150

With the help of increase or decrease in the level of undoing makes or work more convenient and accurate. And never worry about using ‘Command + Z‘ keys. A presentation looks good when they don’t hold any mistake in them whether in terms of designs or in terms of animations we provide in it. We can learn from mistakes only when we do correction in them and undo is the way to correct our mistakes to keep learning from the mistakes. This thing not applies with our presentations but anything we do in our life.

So, keep doing mistakes, keep undoing them without worrying about limit of maximum undos and keep learning from your mistakes.
